Checkpoint is a mobile application owned and operated by Adversity Labs LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

By using Checkpoint, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Email address, age
  • Gambling Assessment Data: Information you provide during onboarding about gambling habits

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device model, iOS version, app version
  • Anonymous Device ID: Used to maintain anonymous sessions (generally not linked to personal identity)

2.3 Information Stored Locally on Your Device

  • App Selections: Apps and categories you choose to block are primarily stored on your device and generally not transmitted to our servers except as necessary for service functionality

3. AI Assistant ("Checky") Data Collection

Conversations with AI Companion are NOT private or confidential. Do NOT share sensitive personal, medical, financial, or legal information with the AI assistant.

3.1 What Checky Collects

When you interact with our AI assistant, we collect:

  • Conversation Content: All messages you send to and receive
  • Metadata: Timestamps, session identifiers, interaction patterns
  • Context Data: Your app usage patterns to personalize responses
  • Performance Metrics: Response times, error rates, feature usage

Service Improvement Notice: We collect chat conversations to improve our service. Conversations may be used to train and improve our AI models. All data is anonymized before use. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support.

3.2 How AI Data is Processed

Your conversations with the AI assistant:

  • Are sent to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)
  • May be stored on servers in multiple countries
  • Could be retained for up to 90 days by AI providers
  • May be used to improve AI models (after anonymization)
  • Are subject to the privacy policies of third-party AI providers
  • May be reviewed by humans for quality and safety purposes

3.3 AI Data Sharing

Important Legal Disclosure:
Conversations with the AI companion are NOT protected by attorney-client privilege, therapist-patient confidentiality, or any other legal protection. We may be required to disclose conversations to:

  • Law Enforcement: In response to valid legal requests (subpoenas, warrants, court orders)
  • Regulatory Authorities: For compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Emergency Situations: If we believe disclosure is necessary to prevent harm
  • Legal Proceedings: To defend our rights or respond to legal claims
  • Third-Party AI Providers: For processing and generating responses

3.4 AI Content Moderation

We implement content processing to prevent harmful uses:

  • Conversations may be automatically scanned for prohibited content
  • Attempts to misuse the AI may result in suspension of access
  • We monitor for: self-harm content, illegal activities, harassment, exploitation
  • Flagged conversations may be reviewed by human moderators

3.5 Your Rights Regarding AI Data

You have the right to:

  • Request Deletion: Ask us to delete your conversation history (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt-Out: Choose not to use the AI assistant feature
  • Access: Request a copy of your conversation data
  • Correction: Report inaccurate data for correction

Note: We cannot control or delete data already processed by third-party AI providers. Deletion requests only apply to data we directly control.

3.6 AI Data Security Limitations

SECURITY WARNING:
• Conversations are transmitted over the internet and could be intercepted
• Third-party AI providers may experience data breaches
• AI models may inadvertently reveal information from other users
• We cannot guarantee complete security of AI conversation data
• NEVER share passwords, SSNs, credit card numbers, or other sensitive data

3.7 International Data Transfer

AI processing requires international data transfer. Your conversations may be processed in:

  • United States (primary processing)
  • European Union (backup processing)
  • Other countries where AI providers operate

By using Checky, you consent to international transfer of your conversation data, which may have different privacy protections than your home country.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide Services: Enable gambling website and app blocking
  • Service Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to improve features (anonymized data only)
  • Communications: Send you app updates, security alerts, and support messages

We do NOT:

  • Sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes
  • Share your network activity with advertisers
  • Actively track your physical location
  • Log or permanently store your IP address for tracking purposes

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures:
